Outback Tucker began with a simple idea: create clean, high-quality jerky using the best local beef from North Queensland.

Founded by Andrew McClymont, a mustering pilot with a close connection to the land and cattle producers he works alongside daily, the goal is to offer a more appealing alternative to the usual chips etc at the shop.

Andrew’s journey into food began unexpectedly when he launched the American branch of goodMix in 2016—a health-food brand started by his sister Jeanie. In 2022, Andrew and Rania returned to Karumba, North Queensland, now with 3 young boys, Monty, Archie. and Bruce. They began making jerky as a hobby, sharing batches with friends and family. The response was positive—people loved it and wanted more.

What started as a passion project soon evolved into Outback Tucker, a brand rooted in supporting local producers and sustainable farming practices. Andrew works closely with hard-working farmers who care deeply for their animals and the land. For Andrew, it’s about more than just jerky—it’s about offering a nutritious alternative for those who want to make better food choices and eat real food more often.
